This partnership is especially meaningful. For decades, GMP has had the honour of publishing the legendary Joseph Shabalala, who was the leading songwriter at the time and creator of hits we’ve come to know and love like “Hello My Baby”, “Rain, Rain, Beautiful Rain” & “Unomathemba”. 

We are now privileged to welcome his sons into the GMP family, Sibongiseni, Thulani and Thamsanqa. This marks the beginning of an exciting new songwriting chapter for both GMP and LBM.

After years of admiration and a bit of final paperwork, it’s official: the legacy continues with Ladysmith Black Mambazo (LBM) and GMP walking forward together.

We’re honoured to play a part in preserving and propelling their legacy into the future, starting with their brand new #1 single “You Make Me Happy” (also featuring Nduduzo Makhathini & Mbuso Khoza).
